Goinkars Own Academy (GOA)

About Us:

 The Goinkars Own Academy came into being in 2002 as the Goans of Pakistan joined hands with organizations/associations the world over to celebrate World Goa Day. The then coordinator for Pakistan Maurice Couthinho arranged the first World Goa Day event. After his departure to Canada the Secretary of the Goinkars Own Academy Deborah Santamaria stepped into Maurice Coutinho's shoes and kept the torch burning World Goa Day 2003 was held under her guidance which was great success. 

Deborah has written and directed a number of Konkani songs, not only for World Goa Day but also for various occasions i.e. Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Rev. Fr. Robbie D'Silva as well as for the reception held for Arch Bishop Everest Pinto's ordination. She also has to her credit of writing short Konkani skits which were put up at the Feast of St Francis Xavier as well as Rev. Fr. Robbie D'Silva's Golden Jubilee.

Goinkars Own Academy has made a name for it selves in Karachi as it not only promotes our Goan Culture but also keeps alive our Amchi Mai Bhas Konkani alive, This association also arranges various events/outings i.e. Recollection Day, Weekend trips, Picnics, Movie Night, Family Day thus bringing the community together. As Rene say's TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We request the Goans of Pakistan to come forward to keep this torch burning thus reviving our Culture and most of all our Konkani language.
